I had a pleasant week at Beijing's Shatan Hotel, thanks to its fantastic location and helpful service. The beds were a bit too hard for my liking, but the overall experience was enjoyable, especially considering the great price. I would definitely consider staying here again.

I had a great week at the Beijing Shatan Hotel, enjoying its prime location and helpful service. The only downside was the firmness of the bed, which took some adjustment. Overall, it was a wonderful value for the price I paid.

The rooms were clean and offered excellent coffee-making facilities, which I really appreciated after long days of sightseeing. though the floors weren't as spotless as I'd hope and shampoo wasn't provided.

I recently stayed at Beijing Sha Tan Hotel for a week, and overall, it was a good experience. The location is fantastic, being just a block away from the Forbidden City and surrounded by local restaurants. However, I found the bed to be quite hard, which made sleeping a little uncomfortable at times. Still, the excellent service and affordable pricing, especially the discounted rate I got, made it all worthwhile. ☕🌆

Rooms
7.0
The room I stayed in was a non-smoking queen bed room on the second floor with large windows that provided nice views of the local neighborhood. It was clean, had a minibar, and offered nice cotton bedding, though it was a bit small.
Service
7.0
The staff were generally helpful and went out of their way to assist me with my needs. However, they seemed to need a bit more training in English, as there was some communication difficulty regarding payment.
Location
8.0
The hotel is in an interesting area, inside a local street with fruit and vegetable markets, just a short distance from the Forbidden City. While it is central, the tiny street can make it hard for taxis to find, which might be frustrating.
Dining
6.0
The dining options had decent Chinese food, with a few Western choices, and while breakfast wasn’t included, it was good enough to satisfy my hunger. Croissants were also available.
Facilities
8.0
Facilities were satisfactory, with 24-hour room service and other essential services available. I appreciated the cappuccino machine in the lobby, as good coffee is hard to find in China.
